About The Painting ...

'Aquitania At Sea'

I've painted a lot of small paintings because I enjoy the challenge of producing detail in miniature.  While most of my paintings, despite their small size, are not true miniatures, this one really is!  The actual painting measures 3" x 4-1/2" and I was inspired to paint it after visiting an exhibition of the Miniature Society, in Dunedin, Florida.  Thought I'd try my hand at it.

The ship is the old four-stacker, the 'Aquitania' of the Cunard Line, 1914 - 1950.  Off to the right, in the distance, you can see she's passsing another liner.

I painted this in gouache (opaque watercolor) on a piece of 4-ply acid-free musuem board.  To display it better, I've cut two mats with an outside dimension of 6-1/2" x 8".

The cost of packing and shipping to any location within the Continental U.S. is  $4.00
