'Wertsville Barn'

This is a plein-air painting ... meaning painted on the spot rather than in the studio.  I rarely paint outdoors, much prefering the privacy of a studio. I should do more though.  Plein air paintings are very popular.  

The old barn and silo sit back from a country road running through the tiny community of Wertsville in  Hunterdon County, New Jersey.  I know nothing about the barn.  It appears unused, perhaps abandoned.

The painting is oil on canvas board and framed with a linen liner that has an antiqued gold inner slip to match the outer frame.
