About The Painting ... 'Heavy Going'
It's 1921. The going is extremely heavy for this small merchant ship of 1,100 tons as it plys it's way through the North Sea. This painting was inspired by a watercolor painting by the English artist and Maritime expert Laurence Dunn. His knowledge of ships, particularly of the early part of the 20th century, is without peer. I've painted it in oil on a gessoed masonite panel. The painting size is 7"x 11-1/2". Framed beneath a deep mat, under glass, the overall size is 14-1/4" x 19". The cost of packing and shipping to any location within the Continental U.S. is $15.00
