About The Painting ... 'Montauk Light' I've always been fascinated with lighthouses but had never painted one until quite recently. I love painting rural buildings as well as maritime scenes so lighthouses make a nice transition with elements of both subjects. Montauk Light is a particularly impressive one. Great height, with that big red stripe around it, makes it a particular favorite among aficionados. It sits on the tip of Long Island at Montauk Point. Its construction was authorized by the second congress in 1792. Still active, its light can be seen at a distance of nineteen nautical miles. The painting is on Waterford 300 lb. cold press paper using professional grade paints. It's double matted with museum quality acid-free mats, ready for framing. Painting Size is: 8" x 11" - Overall with the Matting: 13-1/4" x 16" The price of this original painting is $175.00 The cost of packing and shipping to any location within the Continental U.S. is $6.00
